MD 900 and MD 600 helicopters

1. Simm Samm Airways flies two MD helicopters and is in the process of inducting three more. Mc Donnel Douglas series of helicopters use a unique technology in the world with NOTAR (No Tail Rotor) for lateral control. This technology makes them as one of the safest and quietest class of helicopters in use today. Absence of Tail rotor reduces the vibration level in the helicopter and makes the ride most comfortable and pleasant for the passengers. Minimum vibrations also result in least wear and tear and consequently less down time for maintenance even after sustained operations. The MD helicopters are also equipped with more powerful engines to have improved performance as compared to helicopters in the same class and also have state -of -art avionics and instrumentations for Category A IFR operations. New technology does cost money and hence these machines are priced above others of it’s class.
2. MD helicopters are primarily made for VIP, Corporate and Executive travel, are equipped with best avionics and provide Safe and high level of passenger comfort. As a result, though these helicopters are expensive to procure, these are being used in over 73 countries in the world with Commercial organizations, Police and especially with medical evacuation services. In India, besides our company TATAs operate these helicopters.
